#1 Regret in Undergrad

What are the things that you regretted doing or not doing in undergrad and what could you have done to change it?

Study abroad and not taking more business classes (being an engineering grad).

Not participating in the weekly colloquia and other social/academic events in our department from day one.

Too many: classes not taken, friendships/relationships not pursued, undergrad flies by.
But hindsight is 20/20. lesson is to take blinders off.

Not studying abroad

Not taking more art classes (was an architecture major)

I should have continued regularly with my foreign language class, not out of requirement, but out of a pure desire cuz I love it (and now going into SAIS I’d have a better chance scoring into an advanced level rather than starting from scratch) OH WELL! :sigh:

not doing any research work, thus forcing me to do my masters to get some research experience before applying for PhD.

Correction to #2: NOT STUDYING abroad and not taking more business classes (being an engineering grad).

When you refer to research work what do you mean?

Not being comfortable enough with myself to pursue a relationship with this really sweet guy who was totally into me. Damn, we would have made a good match…

What language, Helen? I’ll be at SAIS, too :-)

Spanish Paraguay :)

Does that mean you’re going into Latin American studies, Helen?

If so, we’ll probably have half our classes together.

Yes I am going into LAS  Hoping for a good internship in Mexico next year  Well something along the lines of gender-parity in development  Do you have MSN? (we can chat)

-taking certain classes just because other people told me to
-not taking college seriously
-not studying abroad
-not dorming
-not joining any clubs
-taking all the wrong classes
-not following my instinct :(

What specifically, about study abroad?
The chance to live/travel at a reduced cost? Doing so would have delayed graduation for me.

Study abroad
independent study/reasearch
double majoring

I studied a broad and she slapped me… it’s not worth it.

^ Priceless :)

Haha that was actually pretty clever…

Uh huh, you know you liked it.
