Anyone else going? We’re flying down Friday AM with D24, she is going to attend a class on Friday afternoon, meet up with our neighbor’s daughter who’s a current student after that, and I’m trying to talk her into going to the Flo Rida concert Friday night (she has some social anxiety and is worried about attending when she won’t know anyone). I think HPU will do something nice to get the prospective students talking, and really hope I can get her to at least give it a try. There is a parent reception during the concert… it would be fun to meet and chat with other parents. Saturday is the open house, I’m looking forward to seeing all the kids open their decision letters for the Instant Decision Day and later we will attend the Junior Scholars lunch. Then back to the airport and home.
Hope you had a great time! I was at the Parent Reception!
It was awesome, well done event and what a beautiful weekend too! She’s not ready to commit yet but she’s signed up for the Presidential Scholars weekend so there’s another visit in our near future.
We loved Presidential Weekend!
Good Evening,
Not sure if anyone will answer but I am randomly confused by the invitation to Decision Day. My daughter’s application is complete and awaiting review. She is nervous about us going to the January Decision Day and what happens to the kids that are not accepted? I know it sounds like a silly question but it is such a big production with so much effort put into the big reveal but what about the kids you are not getting acceptance letters on that day. Or is it really more of an accepted student day and they set it up to entice you to visit the campus but no non accepted students are invited. My daughter is having a lot of anxiety around this although we have signed up to attend. I saw that one family attended in November, maybe they can answer.
Understand the anxiety. At the one we attended, students were placed in different groups via their materials received at check-in, and after the main presentation they break into those groups, so that all of the students who were receiving good news all end up in the same room together to open their decisions, and other students are in a different room at that time. I don’t know if they pre-notified attendees who were not going to receive good news before the actual weekend, although that seems to me like the decent thing to do.
