For fun. (Don’t yell at me). Just do it if you want to.

Academic Experience:
In no order:
-UChicago
-Amherst
-Swarthmore
-MIT
-Columbia
-Reed
-Caltech
-Princeton
-Dartmouth
-Yale

9. Berkeley (b/c of international reputation)

I think Berkeley has quite a bit of a national reputation, too. =)

Interesting lists, though I think that academic experience is really dependent on what kind of person you are, how you get engaged at school, what your attitude is toward your major, etc.

I notice that your “academic experience” list seems to have 1) core-intensive schools, 2) liberal arts or liberal arts-like schools, 3) difficult tech schools.

yeah, i think thats a good list.
And of course Berkeley has great international rep…it is practically where new science is invented (well MIT too) cause so many great scientific discoveries come out of Cal facilities and faculty.

Anyway, academic experience list seemed good. I think the only one problem is that none of those are research universities.
Intensly difficult schools like Berkeley, McGill, and U of toronto are just some research universities that have outstanding academics, but what they lack smallish classes and good direction and counseling. At the schools you listed, you WILL get a great education no matter what, but at the schools i mentioned, your education can be mediocre or phenomenal depending on if you take initiative or not.

And also, i am going to U of Chicago this summer for the 3 week japanese program. I cant wait, june 16. Then i will be able to know first hand how great and tough chicago is.
