100 in college

Is it ok to take 100 level courses in college? My global history class seems fun but I think it is way too easy. Should I switch to a 200 level course since I already got 5’s on both Euro and US? I’m aiming for med school so does taking a 100 level class affect my chances of admission at top schools?

tell me the truth, I’m expecting the worse already lol.

a lot of 100s are pre-reqs to 200s so you should take the 100 classes like you are suppose to

but no 200 level hist class has any 100 prereq. what should i do?

bump… help me!!

If you think it’s too easy, switch. 100-level classes definitely aren’t looked down upon, just like taking a class for high school freshman isn’t a problem if you’re a freshman.

I hear med schools care more about GPA than how rigorous your course load is.

I hear med schools care more about having a good GPA with a rigorous course load.

so what should I do?

You should act like a man!

If you want med school study the simplest subject possible and get the highest gpa.

If you study Biology and have a 3.4 or study art history and have a 4.0 and you took all pre-meds. the art major will win every time.

^Unless the art major gets a 26 MCAT while the Bio major gets a >32. But yea, your point is valid. OP, post this thread in the pre-med subforum.

thanks guys I’ll stick with the course.

Take whatever you want. It really doesn’t matter.

But if you want pre-med advice, don’t ask in the Cafe or anywhere. Look at the pre-med forums. There tends to be a lot of misinformation thrown around in other areas of the site.
