I only got a 1080 on my SAT.
560 Math
520 Critical Reading
I got a unweighted 4.0 gpa.
I’m number 2 out of 210 in my class.

Are all the good schools like Boston U. and NYU out of my reach?

They’re not out of your reach if you have amazing ECs and recs/essay…you should retake it, though…definitely wouldn’t hurt you.

My advice: try the ACTs. If you do well on those, you don’t have to show colleges your SAT scores.

Boston U and NYU also require SAT I + 2 SAT IIs, OR ACT with writing-- another good reason to try ACT.

Yes, you need to retake that. The disparity between your SAT score and your GPA will raise a red-flag at the admissions office.

So yeah, go for at least a 1300.

No. These schools are still your reaches. However, I suggest that you should retake the SAT and try taking the ACT.
