<p>I’ve decided to attend NU, sent the decision card, done all that jazz on my caesar account, on April 3. Just wondering–are they supposed to let me know they received all that? Anything else that comes after matriculating? 'Cause I feel left in the dark.</p>
<p>I know the application frenzy was exhilerating, but now you can relax. By next year, you’ll be busy enough. If you’re still concerned, give admissions a call and have them connect you to someone who can confirm. Congratulations, go wildcats!</p>
<p>It will be especially frustrating as you see all your friends receiving information from their semester colleges while you receive nothing because NU starts much later than semester schools. </p>
<p>Try to find something to keep you busy for the next 4 1/2 months!</p>
<p>Yes indeed, get used to the fact that schools like NU that are on the quarter system run “later on the calendar” than the semester schools, all except for this application period.</p>
<p>So, it may seem like slow motion but, in fact, we found last year (S is a freshman) that Northwestern does things very well. I guess it’s easier for those of us in CA to think about, since all the UCs (except for Berkeley, which switched to semesters) are on quarters, so lots of college bound in state students are on this later start schedule.</p>
<p>About the only place where it might get dicey is with summer job placement.</p>
<p>Once you get to NU and are in your classes, you’ll find a quarter can rush by very quickly. I’m told this is a good thing if there’s a class you don’t care for, a good thing because you’ll be able to take more classes which accomodates the ability to schedule a double major, and not a good thing if you find yourself getting behind in your classes.</p>
