11:56, and i'm finished.

finally, done with applying to college. well except for my nyu application, but i’m not sure if i’m going to follow through with that.

ANYWAY, good luck to all the gw applicants. now we must wait…

Yay, someone else who waited till the last minute :-)

Have you gotten your confirmation e-mail yet? I haven’t, it’s making me nervous…

It will be a few days before you receive it. Actually, it was slightly disappointing because the email was brief and did not provide information regrading how an applicant could check the status of their application.

“well except for my nyu application, but i’m not sure if i’m going to follow through with that.”

I share the same hesitation.

haha yeah i totally sent my application out on the 9th 30 minutes before the post office was going to close

I hope all of us make up the next GWU class. :)

me too but i did common app…
How wierd im also debating on applying to NYU, this is a small world!

I applied ED I and I didn’t get a confirmation email until a few days later. And then I never got my GWid to check my app status for another two weeks after that.

Hahaha, I’m debating on NYU too…and it’s due …tomorrow. I haven’t gotten my GWID and I sent my app. about three weeks ago. I was in a GW chat and they told me to call the admissions office, which I will do tmrw. Good luck everyone!

11:07, and i’m done with the nyu app, haha. hopefully this nasty habit of extreme procrastination doesn’t carry through into college. :/

so did everyone else decide to apply to nyu too?

yea I applied…it was such relief Im all done with my apps, finally!

haha i went to visit nyu and i hated it
legacy there too…so i just didn’t apply
and i’m praying that i get into gw cus its my number 1!

I was hyperventilating last night because NYU wouldn’t accept my credit card, but I was eventually able to a sumbit my application at 11:00 p.m. :). I rushed my short answers, so I hope that doesn’t reflect in my appliaction…

So, why does everyone else prefer GW over NYU?

i visited nyu before i visited gwu, and i loved it. but i also visited columbia and hated it…but there was one thing about columbia that i liked, and it was that they had a campus. and nyu obviously does not, as i’m sure all of you know this by now. anyway, when i visited gw this summer, it seemed like gw had the best of both worlds. they have a campus in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city and they had an enclosed campus. also i found dc a lot easier to find my way around compared to nyc. especially coming from iowa…haha

oh and by the way, i applied to gw ed2 and nyu rd

Why did you hate Columbia? I am hoping to apply to the university for law school, but I have yet to visit.

“oh and by the way, i applied to gw ed2 and nyu rd”

Same here…I hate the wait. Good Luck.

How was GWU?

i hated columbia for an undergraduate experience. i can definitely see law school being amazing there. the admissions officer was SO arrogant and he was like, “i dont know why there are so many people here…when in reality only maybe two of you will be accepted to columbia” so that was my first turnoff. secondly the tour. my tour guide was like “this is where i do my chemistry labs and this is where i study biology and this is where i am going to be taking orgo and this is where…blah blah blah i love science!” hahah and i was like get me out of here! i guess that’s not very fair…but i just didn’t get the feeling that i could belong there as an undergraduate. i think law school would be different.

gwu was amazing. i loved it. i seriously cannot say anything bad about it…except that there is no football team and i love football and it’s huge where i’m from. but other than that, i seriously felt like in dc you have SO many resources and SO many opportunities to learn like so much more. like at my interview the guy was like you could go to the university of iowa and have an econ professor who has his/her phd in econ but has never actually worked with it. but at gwu, you’re econ professor is going to also have his/her phd in econ but also he/she has worked in the white house or congress, etc" you get the picture. it just seemed like such an amazing experience to spend your undergraduate experience in dc. also they told us that gwu has the most internships per capita of any university in the nation. that’s pretty dang sweet. i’m so excited. i really want to get in. we find out in like 3 weeks? i think. anyway, good luck to you too qwilde, i hope we’re classmates in the fall!!! :)

“i dont know why there are so many people here…when in reality only maybe two of you will be accepted to columbia”

I understand. I spoke to an admission officer at USC and he was extremely pompous and pretentious. It utterly ruined my conception of the school.

I applied to GWU for many of the same reasons. I’m also extremely interested in GWU’s study abroad program. Plus, being an Englishman (U.S. Permanent Resident though), studying in Washington will be a great experience, since I will be able to explore American history firsthand. I wish I had been able to see the campus other than on the internet  . I’m more anxious than excited and I can’t bear this wait. Apparently, we receive our decisions in early February, but what exactly is classified as early February? What college did you apply to?

haha i have no idea what “early february” means…i’m guessing before feb 15? haha anyway, i applied to ccas as a communication/spanish double major. you will love it there! i really want to study abroad as well! hopefully either somewhere where i can use my spanish or learn another language, i’m thinking i want to minor in french maybe? so perhaps studying in paris? that would be amazing, i love paris! what college did you apply to? haha did you end up applying to usc? i applied there. we probably have the same list of colleges! haha

Yes, hopefully their early definition doesn’t extend to February 25th :). I’m applying to CCAS and will probably major in history and philosophy (I am aiming for the Honors program though). France is great. I lived in Italy for four years and would often venture into southern France. I especially loved Bordeaux. I’ve lived in Europe for most of my life though, so I want to study abroad in Asia. There is actualy an independent international program that allows students to study all acros the globe. One program includes a trip to India, then to New Zealand, then to Peru, and finally to burial sites across North America. It seems rather appealing. I didn’t apply to USC, but instead applied to one of my dream schools: UC Berkeley. We probably do have the same list of colleges, as this is the board of coincidences…lol.

haha that’s amazing. i’m jealous, i loved italy and france when i was there. haha i’ve lived in the same state all of my life. how boring. haha i’m so ready to be out of here, i can’t wait. anyway, good luck and maybe i’ll see you in the fall!!!   !!!
