1200 characters for Penn State?

<p>So Penn State’s optional personal statement has a 1200 character limit. My personal essay is about 700 words, what does this translate too. I know i need to shorten but how much. I can’t get a character calculator on my word processor.</p>

<p>yeah… i got mixed up i was trying to remember back from my GT essay which i thought was 1400 char 770 words but was somewhere around 4500 chars</p>
