$1200+ short.

I am currently receiving no financial aid. I’m a little over $1,200 short for my tuition payment due Dec. 3. Due to some unfortunate financial circumstances (circumstances that the finaid office does not take into account while determining my aid eligibility), my parents are not able to loan me the extra money to cover it.

What are my options? Should I try talking to the financial aid office again even though I know they probably won’t be able to change anything? I think I’ll probably have to take out a loan, but is there even time for me to get a loan before then?

You need to go back to your fin aid office. Ask them about a loan. Beg them!

Definitely go to the fin aid office and ask for help and advice. I was paying my S’s tuition on line today and noticed his school has an “emergency loan” option, so this may be not unusual- the need to “bridge” a loan over a short period of time if you have to take out a loan and the processing takes you over a due date. If you don’t currently have a Stafford loan or haven’t used up your maximuj, those go very fast also.
