1290 Sat

Ugh I got a 1290 on my SAT any UC’s?

Breakdown, por favor?

Make sure you first meet eligibility requirements first. Otherwise, you’ll have to transfer to a UC by attending community college first.

Also, you could probably get into one of the lower UC’s like Riverside if your other stats are pretty good.

Well my acad gpa is a 3.0

You need to try harder!

1290 on just math and writing? or 1290 or everything?

i was going to ask the same thing…is that 1290/1600 or /2400?

1290 is decent if you want to make it to your state university (if it’s out of 1600).

You should retake them… if your GPA was higher and you were aiming for somewhere like UC Irvine or Riverside, your scores would be ok (assuming it’s 1290/1600… if it’s 1290/2400, you definitely have to retake them if you want a chance at any UC).

Your D/D in Geometry will hurt your chance to a UC. Your 1290/2400 will not be good enough in conjuction with your GPA. Your better option to a UC is to attend a community college for the first two years and then transfer to a UC.

I don’t think you qualify to apply to the UC (your GPA is too low.) If you really, really want to go to UC, you’ll have to go to community college first and then transfer as a junior.

1240/2400

Plus I’m taking Math 120 at a CC for the summer.

whoa…no chance

Wow…out of 2400?..just wow…just study hard and take it again

Not taking algebra until tenth grade evidently hurt your preparation for the SAT (and for college, for that matter). Try again. It’s good that you’re still moving forward in learning math.

Do you wanna give us a breakdown of those SAT subscores? If it’s math that’s ailing you, I can’t really be of help (didn’t do so well myself), but I’ve gotten perfect 800’s on Writing before and I’m happy to give you some tips to boost your score.

Under 1000 isn’t going to get you into any UC. Your best bet is to go the CC route.

Your UC gpa will probably be lower once they calculate it. My cousin had a 3.08 or something, but with UC recalculations he didn’t qualify and has to go to a state school.

If that’s not a problem though, try the ACTs?

I hope you study and can bring up those grades; try a math tutor and read a lot, maybe?

calrule-
How are gpas calcuated differently for UCs?
