13 in vs 14 in laptops

I have a 14 in laptop, and I kind of wish I had gotten a 13.3

Don’t get my wrong, I’m not weighed down by this laptop. Well, I kind of am, because this thing weighs more than my 5 lbs Organic chem textbook. I guess if I really tried, I can fit everything in. But when I’m on my bike, it gets heavy. It would be nice to be able to fit a laptop in along with my textbook, but whatever, too late now.

I’m just curious though, do you prefer 13.3 or 14? I imagine you would get more battery out of 13.3, but what about longevity? Don’t smaller laptops generally use less powerful low voltage processors?

I’m currently using a 13 inch Macbook Pro and i love it. recently, i bought a Dell 14R as a secondary computer and liked it, but i think for travel 13" laptops are the way to go. If you look around, you can find 13s that have fast, reliable processors, so unless you really need the ULV models, you can get alot out of a smaller laptop.

It depends. typically a smaller laptop is going to a have a slower processor because of heat management. Not sure how much of a practical difference it’ll make between a 13.3 and 14 inch notebook though, considering the size difference is still quite small, since the common processors between the two are probably similar. The main difference affecting how much power is used is the screen, since the 14 inch screen is larger.
