Is it good?Ive heard some people recommending it,but…is it necessary?Or is it enough to have the barron’s book?
thanks :)

I have heard that it is way too difficult to be helpful.

Thanks for the input silver. What is your opinion on the other question?

DON’T do the 15 realistic practice tests. I strongly discourage it. Yes, if you can get a perfect score on those tests you’re more than in fine shape for the real exam, but for the many of us that cannot, the practice tests will help you only slightly, if at all.

Barron’s is also slightly discouraging when it comes to exam difficulty. I got 680-720 on the Barron’s and an 800 on the real thing. What’s your target score? I can’t really answer your second question. I didn’t use only Barron’s, though I will say that it’s explanations and review were quite good. Barron’s is harder than the real thing, and I would suggest that in addition to Barron’s you try any of the following: Princeton Review (especially!), Sparknotes, maybe Kaplan, and definitely the official CollegeBoard released exam, as they are all much closer in terms of difficulty to the exam.

I seriously got low 500’s to 600’s on the 15 “Realistic” Practice tests. Not only are they a major blow to your ego and confidence, but also, they, as silverturtle said, are too difficult to be of aid.

bought meylani math 2 by my precalc teacher’s recommendation and it helped me a lot, I did not do all tests by myself, but I made sure to go over each question and its solution, there were many questions in the real test very much alike those in Meylani only easier, definitely helps a lot; I skipped like 7 questions in the real test but still managed to get 760 which is very much enough for me.

barron’s: old tests (my teacher says) which don’t help at all
kaplan: gives a false sense of confidence before the real test, but definitely not helpful, too easy
princeton review: good prep but not so good tests
