17 year old Muslim girl killed after leaving mosque

True, it’s never good to leave a friend in danger but sometimes people act instinctively when terror strikes. Second guessing people in the comfort of our armchairs doesn’t help the deceased in any case.

I think they all just scattered and she got caught. It would have been dark out too. So sad…

@greenwitch after re-reading the local article I think you are right

Here’s the info about the vandalizing of her memorial; very troubling and sad.

They’re also testing to see if she was raped and conscious before being murdered. So incredibly heartbreaking. She sounds like she was a wonderful person. No one deserves such treatment.

If I see someone armed with a metal baseball bat and I’m with a group of friends, I’ll be the first one to ditch the scene. A swing to the head with a metal baseball bat can probably be lethal.

From Yahoo! news:

"U.S. Parks Police said a man was arrested after allegedly igniting items placed at Washington D.C.'s Dupont Circle fountain in remembrance of Nabra Hassanen.

Parks Police said in a statement that the fountain did not suffer any permanent damage. The Metropolitan Police Department said Jonathan Solomon, a 24-year-old from South Carolina, was arrested and charged with “attending or kindling bonfires.”

“The items had been collected from within the park. There is no evidence that this incident is related to the memorial held in the park the previous evening,” Park Police said in a statement.

Just as officials in D.C. said the fire was not hate-motivated, their counterparts investigating Nabra’s murder say her religion was also not a factor."

weird… police say the guy was just a bum setting random stuff on fire.
