what should i do to get at-least a 1900 on the sat

You and I have pretty much the same first scores. I got a 1760 SAT (this was a practice SAT) . I had a 2210 when I took the real one, so you can score higher than a 1900 if you put in the time.

For the CR I did PR. I first read everything they had to say. Then, I did the questions. The PR book took me about a day. Then, I went to the Kaplan book and I did that too. These will give you techniques to do the reading passages. The vocabulary is a different story. For that I did the SAT Power Vocabulary from PR. This gives you 1600 words, and took me a 160 days to get through. My CR score rose from a 680 to a 800.

For the math I started with a 580. I used the PR book on that too. It gave me techniques to get through the math. I also used Dr.Steve Warner’s SAT Prep book of advanced math problems. This book has some great math problems. They are level 3 4 and 5 math problems. I also did some Kaplan on this. The opinion on CC is to use Dr. Chung, but I haven’t ever seen that book, let alone used it, so all I can say is that if the people on CC like it, then it must be awesome. I rose from a 580 to a 690, but I think that since your math is your strongest score, you will rise more.

Writing only tests 15 rules. I memorized these rules and rose from a 570 to a 720. I used the PR book.

The one Kaplan book that I found helpful was the SAT 2400. This is a great book and helped me in all 3 sections of the SAT.

All of this practice won’t help if you don’t try practice tests. First, do the practice tests in the back of the PR book. Then do the 16 Practice tests for the SAT. PR tests are harder than the actual test, but they prep you so well that you will find the actual test easy. I took one Kaplan test, but the math on those is too easy. Then, after you have exhausted the PR tests do the BB tests. You should score above 2000 at this point. I was scoring 2100 to 2300. After the BB tests are done, take the free actual SAT Test from the CB website. Taking it on paper is best. By the end of my practice I had given 17 practice tests. If you give a large amount of tests you get used to the time limits and use the techniques quickly.

If you score above a 1700 you can get to a 2100 + score. You already did get a 1760, so aim higher than a 1900. That 2100+ is possible! A major obstacle you will face will be time. You will need to balance school and SAT Prep. Also, keep in mind that 2 SAT Subject Test are recommended, so you will need to prep for those too (unless you have already given them).

Good luck on your SAT Journey!!
