<p>It really depends on how you did in SAT iis and APs
if you get above 600 in sat iis and got above 3 or 4, they will help.
For instnace, in my case, I’ve got 620 in math I and 760 in Korean sat ii</p>
<p>I have a really bad GPA trend. Freshman year I had over a 4.0 weighted both semesters. Sophomore year I had a 3.7 first semester, and 3.5 second semester. Junior year I had just hit the 4.0 mark first semester. My overall GPA on my transcript is a 4.0 (95.05) weighted. I think I can maintain a 4.0 (95+) this final semester of Junior year, making my overall GPA on my transcript 4.0. Is this a bad trend? I really messed up sophomore year, but I don’t know why. I kind of recovered Junior year. Will this hurt me or is it ok?</p>
<p>I am from OOS. If i get 1250 m/v SAT, 650+ SAT2 Physics, 700+ SAT2 Math2C, and a 4 on my AP Physics Exam, and minimal EC’s, do I have a REALLY good chance at PSU (like 95% chance)? I will also be applying early (around 9/25/06).</p>
<p>don’t worry. I got 1760 SAT (new SAT) and my GPA was 4.1 out of 4.0 (numerical value: 96) and I got in.
You’ll most likely to get into PSU. But test scores are crucial for gaining the admission place at PSU. Just don’t mess them up.</p>

<p>lil to tell the truth I don think ECs and the essay have much weight in admission…but of course good ecs and an essay wont hurt you ;-)</p>
<p>yes, although i don’t remember the question, I did write the essay. If I recall correctly, you are required to write essays for the Penn State app.
My ECs are pretty basic…
- Algebra Private Tutor at Cambridge Friends School (paid) - taught 7th graders.
- Member of National Highschool Scholars
I did not have any major positions for clubs. However, I have very prestigious awards such as 2 silver keys from Boston Scholastic Art awards and first place in “in-school” French Competition. (By the way, French is my fourth language - my fist one is Korean, second: English, third: Spanish…)</p>
<p>Well, it may sound like I am bragging but really, I do not have more than 20 hours of communtive services and my ECs are weak compared to others. I think my high GPA and rank (10 out of 400) helped…</p>
