I’m currently planning to take 18 units next semester, specifically ME C85, E 28, EE 120, EE 128, and CS 188. Is this too many? Who’s taken these classes before and can comment on the workload?

I may also be doing research as well.

ME C85, EE 120, EE 128 = lecture and discussion courses
E 28 = lab course
CS 188 = programming course

Usually, courses which are lecture and discussion only tend to be less work than lab or programming courses (even if the course content is not very difficult, labs or programming can take up time).

On the other hand, it looks like the programming assignments in [CS 188](CS 188: Artificial Intelligence) do not look anywhere near as big as those in other CS courses.
