I got only 1820 SAT score on 6th June. Will I have any chance to be accepted in top 100 universities in the USA? I got 9.0 GPA, about 5-6 extra curriculums. Please help me!
I mean 9.0/10 (because I come from Vietnam)
I’m international too and only got an 1840… I’m planning on retaking it though, it’s hard to get into the top schools with less than a 2000
Because you are an international applicant (competition is way harder), you should aim for a 2100+ just to be safe.
To apply to Ivies or really good schools, get 2000+ AT LEAST
i want to know how to improve myself …im really need a help …could you tell me how i can get 1600
I think you should focus on Math and Writing Multiple choice. Because, you can improve your score greatly through these sections of SAT. For me, CR is dreadful… Math is the easiest one to achieve 700 I think so.
@thaohuong hey, I come from VN too! My SAT Score this year is 2270, first try I think if lucky you might get accepted in an university with that score in top 100, but you will hardly get scholarships for that. As international student, and especially coming from Asia, college will expect you to got a stellar score - around 2100+. It also depends on your major. Asians who apply for STEM will require good score in math and science areas, and are expected to have higher SAT Score too.
@Brinette where are u from? (I’m from HN) Did you apply for universities? Where did you learn to complete applications?
@thaohuong I’m from Ho Chi Minh city but i’m currently studying in US. I have not yet apply to any uni yet and I haven’t start senior year. If u want to apply for college you can go online and fill out the commons application. Are u studying senior year in VN?
@Brinette Ya I’m studying in Hanoi. How lucky you are! Are you in grade 9? How could you got a brilliant score like that? I really admire you!!!
@thaohuong awww, thank you very much. No next year I’ll be a senior. I don’t have much time left to prepare for college. Oh, and the SAT score is mostly self-study. Since I move to US in year 10 my parents cannot afford to pay for SAT classes so I study by myself using different books and do practice tests on my own.
