1835 Hinman

What does "suite-style" living mean? I looked at the floor plan and everything looks normal like the other dorms.

It means the hallways are divided by swinging doors every few rooms, and that is how the gender divisions work. Each of these "suites" shares a bathroom.

Note: The gender divided suites rule does not apply to ISRC (West Fairchild).

I lived in hinman my sophomore year, and all it really means is that every few rooms there is a small little lounge with couches and a table. Its a little more intimate than say Allison or Bobb where there is one lounge a floor, but it really wont affect you getting to know the rest of your hallway/floor.

Is there an elevator? The 5th floor seems like quite a hike!

Yep, there's an elevator. And only the disabled, cleaning staff can use it. They'll have it active for move-in week, then you start burning the calories.
