So, my best on the SAT (three strikes, I’m out) is 1960. So just to change things up a bit, my fourth multi- hour standardized test will be the ACT. I have taken science/reading practice tests so far and am scoring 28/27 respectively. If I continue to work consistently (I promise) what can I realistically expect on the April ACT? I am doing old practice tests and checking my wrong answers as prep. What can I wildly hope for, instead of April Fools? Timing on this test seems to be everything!

29-31 based on concordant scores. Not always accurate however.

The above poster is right. In fact, here is a PDF showing how scores between the two tests correspond. Of course, the SAT has no science section, so that score cannot really be predicted.

But, as you said, timing is everything on the ACT. Few of the questions are actually challenging. The challenge is coming up with a correct answer quickly. This is especially true for the science section, which presents you with much more reading material than you have time to go through. Keep practicing, and you should be in the low 30s.
