1965 Rodgers & Hammerstein “Cinderella” on YouTube tonight

We used to go to my great-grandparents to watch it every year, because they had a color TV. And the soundtrack was so burned into my consciousness that I sang it to my infant daughter.

This is the one with Stuart Damon, Alan Quartermaine from General Hospital, as the Prince!

What a happy diversion! I love the songs! As H says, they’re “toe-tappers!”

I wanted to be Lesley Ann Warren! We were so excited to see this on tv once a year and would lose our minds if we missed it for some reason (I think this happened only once). Just like Wizard of Oz and The Sound of Music. Our kids will never know what that was like- having to wait a year, and not having pause or rewind or a way to tape it.

It was lovely to rewatch it. I hadn’t realized how spoiled we have gotten since then with the very lavish sets they’ve switched to. Songs were as gorgeous as remembered.
