So heres my conundrum, should i just take december SAT I, study my a** off to get 2200+ and apply regular? or apply early with what i have, heres the rest of my life in a nutshell:

I would apply regular… there’s no advantage of applying early unless you are incredibly prepared (which it doesn’t sound like you are). Just wondering… why did you wait so long to take your SAT II’s? Most people finish them in their sophomore/junior year. Also, if you are an international student, you can’t apply early anyways.

hell hope is def not lost! You got a good GPA nowadays its GPA over SAT because that evaluates your 3.5 years in high school not just one test. You got good specs for any college you want to apply to. Maybe you weren’t so fortunate with your SAT but oh well…hey? u just might be stressing over the SAT too much affecting your score…get the grade you want on your SAT 2…Go reg unless u have a college u really want to go to

most people DONT finish them in sophomore/junior year. most CC people do.
every school introduces students to college prep things at different times. at my school, we are told once in may of jr year and once in oct of sr year.

apply early if you feel you are ready, apply regular if you want to raise your score. but remember, you are more than just scores.

If you are an international(non-US citizen or non-Permanent Resident), you can’t apply early.

If your primary language is not English, 1980 sounds just fine. Not good, but ok. You can use your GPA and Subject Tests to show them you are capable of academic work.

Also, if you are an int’l, you can take TOEFL instead of SAT-I. TOEFL is relatively easier althought not just a piece of cake.

The reason people don’t recommend taking a test after 2nd time is because, generally speaking, people usually don’t improve. If you take and get the same scores again, it may not look good. MIT only considers your best scores, and you can also use Score Choice but really a 4th time sounds a bit overkill?
