I made a post asking for a chance me in December and wanted to share my results. I also applied to some of the same schools in high school because I was an insane person and thought my ACT could carry me lol, I learned the hard way.

GPA, Rank, and Test Scores
- HS GPA: 2.4 W
- College GPA (for transfers): First university: 1.24 after three semesters. 1st semester at current community college I had 2 F’s and withdrew from a class before the 2nd semester started. Re-enrolled in community college in Spring 2023. Because of grade forgiveness policy I have a 3.84 now. After summer semester maybe around a 3.85 or 3.86.
- ACT/SAT Scores: My highest of the two was in October 2017. 30 cumulative. 26 Math. 25 Science. 34 English. 34 Reading.
Awards Dean’st List - Spring 2023, Summer 2023, Spring 2024. Presidential Scholar - Fall 2023. Associate’s Degree in English in August 2024. Phi Theta Kappa.
Extracurriculars
Retail job - 4 years. Food service job - 6 months (worked both jobs at the same time). Volunteereed at local elementary school library. Do freelance makeup applications for clients. Mother was recently hospitalized for two months. Took care of my home and affairs solely. Since her release, I have been taking care of her.
Essays/LORs/Other
Essay got mixed reviews from peers. Wrote about how I want to continue being an English major and although I have a love of writing I want to continue community service by being an attorney for domestic violence and sex trafficking victims. Did name drop Law and Order: SVU lol.
LORS: Both English Comp profs and my Science teacher. Also retail manager who has known me for 4+ years.

Have about 62-70 transferable credits.

- Smith (Ada Comstock Scholar) - was pleasantly surprised but ultimately did not accept the waitlist. (rejected in HS)
- Wellesley (Davis Degree) - one of my top schools and I was shocked. At first I thought I was rejected but then I read on. Definitely accepting the waitlist and hoping to write the best LOCI possible

Just wanted to give hope to some applicants who may have not done well in high school and some parts of college. It’s never too late! I dealt with many obstacles and personal issues and I am very proud of myself for how far I’ve come. I plan to commit to Mount Holyoke! <3
