I aiming to get into a school as good as my grades will let me. I have taken honors courses, AP, and have participated in a few ECs. I will manage to come out of high school with a 2.5… What kind of SAT scores should I aim for too balance this disaster and what kind of school should I be looking at? thanks in advance :)

Realistically, you should try to score as high as possible on your SAT’s, but you should also be realistic. It all depends on what schools you are looking at.

yeah I think I can get a good score. and thats the thing I dont know what schools to look at… I know I want to major in hr managment and be pre pharm.

Try Albany College of Pharmacy, ACP. Your GPA might be an alarm, but if you get your SAT’s to 2000+, then you have a shot. ACP is a good school for the money, and has a low student-teacher ratio. ( Like 10/9:1)

oh ok thanks! any other opinions?

Arizona State

The good news is despite the GPA, you have at least taken some AP and honor courses. Like the others have said, focus on your SAT or ACT scores. You might want to look at any of your state universities which will offer a range of majors and might be more receptive to lower GPA’s for in state students. You should also check out the book “Colleges That Change Lives” a great book which lists colleges that have a higher acceptance rate for lower GPA students but also provide a great education. (most of them, though are LAC’s). Finally, you can always consider entering a community college or a state university and look to establish strong college grades for the purpose of transferring to another school. I would not recommend this as your first option though since transfering is not always easy.

yes by the end of my senior year I shall have 5 AP classes under my belt and one dual credit course. And yes thanks for the advice I intend on giving the sat my all and more ![]()
I didn’t mention before I live in Texas right now so any texas schools that any of yall could suggest would be greatly appreciated! and thanks to all those who have offered feedback already!
