hi I’m a junior in a public high school I have a 2.9 gpa and hoping to raise my gpa up to a 3.0 or 3.2 by senior year I have numerous ec’s, community service, and am currently taking 3 ap classes (us history, english, and spanish) and plan on taking 2 ap’s next year which are chem and english literature. Im planning on majoring in food science and technology and some schools im considering are(warning: some may be out of reach schools):
-Calpoly SLO
-UC Davis
-Calpoly pomona
-San José state
-fresno state
-louisiana state
-cal state LA
Im also also a hispánic female coming from a low income family. Im open to any suggestions of which schools to consider for food science
No SAT or ACT???
Also note, you need a minimum UC GPA of 3.0 at end of Junior year to apply to UC Davis or any other UC :::http://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
UC Davis: Reach
SLO: Low Reach
CPP/SJSU: High Match
CSULA/Fresno State: Low Match
Here is the eligibility index for SJSU: Calculate yours and see if you qualify
(CSU GPA x800) + (SAT math+CR) or (CSU GPA x200) + (ACT composite x10)
URM will have no effect on California publics but low income will help.
Thank you for the info
Im taking my act’s in april and my sat in may i have been studying hard for both exams so i hopefully i will score well
A bit premature without test scores but, consider Cal Poly Pomona and Chico. Both have solid programs but, will take a pretty performance on your standardized tests.
Thanks for the recomendations @NCalRent and i will definitely aim for high test scores these next two months
