2 in 1 laptop for drawing anime advice

My D enjoys drawing on a laptop. She needed to replace her laptop and we ordered a 2 in 1 Lenovo ideapad-within a week it was not working, tried to troubleshoot with company, they sent out a new charger, still didn’t work. She liked the laptop up until it did not work anymore, but we have returned it for a refund from Amazon and ordered a Dell from Best Buy. She set that up today, and it does not seem to work well for drawing so wants a different one. This is frustrating for her and me and haven’t even talked to H about it yet. Does anyone have suggestions for a great drawing tablet for her to draw with digital pen? She mostly likes to draw anime type characters. I really dislike the thought of returning another laptop and she says the laptop is nice, but the pen doesn’t do what she wants it to do (ordered at the same time, but did not come with the laptop). She didn’t think exchanging the pen would work, but thinks it is the wrong laptop. Anyone have suggestions of what works for them?TIA

I will ask Happykid about this. She might have a friend who can advise.

Is she drawing right on the laptop or is she using a drawing tablet? Maybe that is what she needs to get. Wacom has some that are only about $50.

We have purchased several Wacom tablets and styluses for D to draw with. It is a popular way for folks to draw and then store the artwork on a computer.

Our D has a Wacom tablet with pen also. Works reasonably well.

@happymom1 @HImom @mm5678 thank you! I think that is the route she decided to go. She has been using a drawing pad attached to a computer for years, but I think was hoping to be able to draw directly on computer screen which seemed to be working well for a week on the Lenovo before it stopped working. She likes the new computer and has decided to keep it which I’m glad that we don’t have to do another return. Thank you for taking the time to help us figure this out.?

Yes, my D loves to draw/sketch. She did buy a laptop that allowed her to draw/sketch on it but never really liked it as much as the Wacom tablets we bought her. After the laptop self-destructed, she switched to a netbook and desktop with two monitors plus the Wacom tablet. That’s what she’s still using a decade later (minus the netbook).

Two words: Wacom Cintiq. Don’t throw money out of the window by buying cheaper tablets (Bamboo et al). You need a device that supports a pressure-sensitive pen that works like a real pen or pencil.
