2 questions.. PSAT and AIME

Okay, my first question is this: If you want to be a semi-finalist or commended for PSAT, do you take it sophomore or junior year?

Also… do colleges count AMC/AIME scores for freshmen? I took both freshman year… 105.5 on AMC and 3 on AIME, is that good, mediocre, or not so great for a freshman? I only have one person to compare to in my school so I’m not quite sure…

Junior year

Okay, that’s what I thought, but all my teachers were telling me last year to take it soph. year… thanks a lot. Does anyone know about the AMC/AIME?

you take it sophomore year for practice, but doesn’t count towards PSAT, even if you get a 240.

On a national scale, 3 for a freshman is kind of mediocre. On a local scale, it’s probably really good (unless you go to one of those crazy magnet schools ^_^)

But the good thing is, you have plenty of time to improve!
