2 Year Science Degree, stay at home or move out?

I’m 24 years old, I graduated in May 2012 with a B.S. in Zoology, and I paid for it myself and lived at home with my family without any rent. I now want to go back to community college to get a 2 year degree in nursing (or something similar). I have a boyfriend I’d love to get my first place with. Now here’s the question, should I continue to live at home for these next two years, or should I find a way to pay for both rent and school. I have multiple jobs now, but I know how challenging science classes can be, school will definitely be the priority. I feel that it’s time for me to move out, I think financial aid would be more available, I just don’t want to make the wrong decision. Any advice is welcome.

Can you afford it and your school?

You are 24 and have already completed a full B.S. degree. You are independent for financial aid, and will be limited to the federal loan maximums. If you have borrowed up to the limit already, you won’t even be eligible for those.

Make an appointment with the financial aid office at the CC you are interested in, and find out whether you qualify for any aid at all. It is possible that you don’t.

I actually paid for most of my schooling out of pocket through waitressing  I definitely think I’m eligible for financial aid. Might be smart to talk to someone soon though.
