Yes, Lady Gaga topped 20mm today. Just trying to keep you guys current on breaking news, and what’s happening in the world. How do I even know this? Well, was reading an article about her new Born This Way Foundation she established at Harvard, and the article mentioned she had the most Twitter followers of anybody, so I checked today and it was 19mm and change, and I thought it would be nice to be #20mm but didn’t want to have to wait that long, but I checked a few hours later and she was past 20mm, so congrats Lady Gaga! :D

I love that Lady GaGa.

Ever since I saw her as a judge on So You Think You Can Dance and she found something really encouraging and postive to say to every single dancer. Very classy.

Although some may be put off by her antics, she is actually a classically trained talented musician.

I have learned to appreciate her because D2 loves her and I’ve had to listen to her while driving with D2. D2 also got us all to watch her Thanksgiving Day special.

I’ve got to give it to the crazy lady. She is talented and seems to genuinely care about certain social issues and is willing, it seems, do more than just lip service.

I’m also a fan of hers. Up until she was on the Today show the summer of 2010, my only association with her was pictures of her outrageous costumes. But when I saw her on the Today show, I was wowed by her actual talent.

She is dating a young man whose parents live in my township. I’ve heard through the grapevine that they really like her. Considering how conservative the culture is here, that says a lot. And, hey, she was photographed shopping in the meat department of our local grocery store. Pretty cool.

Also, when she visits our area, she patronizes local, small restaurants. It’s really good for business. I like that about her.

morrismm…she was classically trained? Perhaps you mean in her youth? She went to the same college program as my daughter which is for musical theater, not classical. She did not graduate, however.

she is trained on classical piano… that said, from what I can find quickly online, I don’t know how good she actually is. I mean, lots of people take lessons and play piano through high school, so I don’t know if anything about her classical skills would put her above the average person with 10+ years of piano training.

She is very talented… but if there’s anything all of these talent search shows have told us, it’s that there are lots and lots of other people that are equally as talented as the artists out there making 8 figures a year.

Perhaps I was confused because when I read “classically trained,” I thought morrismm was referring to vocal training. I wasn’t thinking about piano. Not that my kid compares at all to Lady Gaga, but she is a singer/songwriter too and her vocal training is musical theater (like Gaga) but her piano training for ten years is classical, even though she plays no classical now, though plays piano professionally too. Classical piano, however, is a good basis for playing piano and for songwriting as a pop artist.
