I was not familiar with some of these! Has anyone used the Amazon photo ordering???
I had to appreciate the little jab at Justin Trudeau at the end…(who I happened to meet in person last week - I know he’s “Prime” Minister, but he is ADORABLE!!!)

" Audible for dogs, a curated selection of audiobooks for your dog that you can leave playing for their enjoyment."
We no longer have a dog but I like this one. haha. I wonder what dogs really think about it. Anyone tried it and have feedback?
@abasket I have head of state envy. Jealous you got to meet him in person!
I have been saving my photos on amazon prime for a number of years. Last time they had a special to get 50 free photos I did it. I was happy with the results.
My daughter does the twitch prime and the video game pre-orders (sometimes the only way to get a game not at retail price).
My free Prime trial is ending in a couple of weeks and I’m trying to decide if it’s actually worth paying for. I’ve only really been taking advantage of the free shipping.
@stradmom If you have a college student with a .edu address, Prime is only $49/year.
Some of their Prime Video series such as Man in the High Castle and Bosch are outstanding.
A cool relatively unknown Amazon feature is Amazon garage. You put in your car make, year, model and it will limit your search to products that match your car only. I have used this to shop for floor mats, hubcaps, wiper blades, etc.
^^Yup. Just got new spark plugs for kiddo’s car. $20 and some Mr.’ elbow grease got the car running smoother.
Anybody heard about or actually visited the Treasure Truck?
https://www.amazon.com/treasuretruck?
Amazon’s Treasure Truck was test marketed in Seattle for the past year or two. One item on sale (like steaks, ear buds, flowers). You have to pick up your purchase at the truck, which is may or may not be a convenient location.
@3,
I’m on the fence also about signing up for Amazon Prime and really don’t want it because I have enough stuff. I feel like we as Americans, yes I am generalizing, are too materialistic. That doesn’t mean I don’t buy food, shampoo, etc. but I can get that locally without much fuss. I use Amazon to buy things I can’t get locally.
I don’t shop every day, I get that Amazon Prime, especially for certain folks, such as big city folks, or super busy folks, might make sense. I’m not all that intrigued by Amazon acquiring Whole Foods, for example, even though they say they will lower WF prices, because I really don’t have any intentions of talking to a computer personal assistant to buy food and beverages. I’m fine with going to the store once a week. I do not shop at WF because, as the old saying goes, it should be called Whole Paycheck. I am a value shopper. I think there might be a point at which instead of me and people like me making lists and driving and driving around and picking up things we will all buy other ways. The example in #6 about buying spark plugs makes sense. But, otherwise, I am a little leery of that whole paradigm shift. It might be just me.
We’ve bought a whole lot of “obscure” stuff on Amazon - or rather from small shops that work as Amazon suppliers via their ecommerce platform. Some things that we could not get from anywhere fast, like a cartridge for an older faucet, a plastic cover for a bathroom fan, a little cap that was missing from the handle of our bath faucet, some specialty tools. But I agree - for grocery shopping, we go to Costco and supplement with TJ/local stores.
Amazon has already drop prices on a lot of staple type food items at WF.
I am not a shopper and pretty anti-consumer. However, I do use Amazon all the time for non-food items. Prices are good and I’d much prefer to click a few buttons and have stuff dropped on my front porch than venture into a store.
I got a text today that the Treasure Truck is now in our city so just for fun I signed up. It will be interesting if it comes anywhere close to us, and if so, if they have anything we can use. DS now works for Amazon so I feel obligated to support them because I want their stock to do well!

Portland.
Not enough geographic diversity, @BunsenBurner. I’d put my money on it going elsewhere.
Or Nashville.
Actually, I should unlike the Nashville suggestion. Nashville’s housing has skyrocked so much that teachers, first responders, etc. can’t afford to live in Nashville and must drive up to an hour to get to work. Their mayor has made affordable housing a priority, but she’s not going to solve that problem in the short term. Public transportation continues to be a problem for them as well. Amazon would love Nashville, but young Nshvillians would probably pass. Just south of Nashville would be great for Amazon.
If they are looking to hire old folk, I vote on Atlanta!
Come to San Diego!
