2006 Women Grads at West Point

<p>“The most recent class of 2006 had many outstanding performances by women. Stephanie Hightower was the First Captain of Cadets, only the third woman to command the Corps of Cadets, and a Fulbright Scholarship winner. Jessamyn Liu was the valedictorian (based on academic, physical, and military performance) and had the highest academic GPA in the class. She also received the Truman and Gates-Cambridge Scholarships. The highest overall physical score was held by a woman, Chelsea Haviland. Women made up 15% of the graduating class of 2006, but an impressive 18% of the female population were in the top 5% of the Corps’ overall combined ranking of academic, physical, and military grades, also known as the Superintendent’s Award for Excellence.”</p>

<p>Pretty impressive group of women at West Point. I’d expect no less from the Long Grey Line.</p>

<p>Looks like I have to have another fatherly chat with my yuk son and tell him that the List of Eternal Truths I gave him when he left for West Point needs amendment. Right after the “unequivocal moral superiority of women over men”, he needs to adds academic and physical superiority. Hope his ego doesn’t get irrepairably bruised.</p>
