I’m an international waitlisted seeking financial aid for Engineering. Here are my stats. Do I have any chance at all? Took a gap year because of family and financial problems. Could hardly prepare for my SATs because of job, 50 hrs a week. Hence the low scores.

I guess I got waitlisted primarily due to the fact that I need a full ride. I know its a nail in the coffin. But I love Tufts…and Sigh!! don’t have the money!! Sigh [:-(]

It’s not because you needed a full ride. Tufts University has a need-blind policy. Honestly, admissions is always a crapshoot for some. Continue to show interest in the school. I suggest writing a letter? My friend wrote a phenomenal one to UChicago and was taken off the wait list. Admissions officers tend to be very receptive to any extra effort you put into expressing your interest.

I’m pretty sure Tufts does have a need-blind policy, but has to limit international applicants admitted due to this policy:

[Financial Aid - International Students - Office of Undergraduate Admissions - Tufts University](<a href=“Tufts University”>Tufts University)

^^^^^^^ Thanks Code.

Thank you so much guys.

@ ovester, Thank u so much for the suggestion…I’ll do that.

@ Code, Thank you for the info.

But I don’t think Tufts is fully need-blind for internationals like Harvard or MIT, but though it is need-aware it does give generous aid to internationals. It does consider finances as a part of application, but unlike NWU, that’s not a major cause.

Anyone else??
