I know that for accounting, rankings don’t matter that much, but I want a different perspective of what accouning schools are out there besides looking at the Public Accounting Reports. So does anyone have the 2007 or 2008 US News accouning rankings? I’ve searched through pages of info on here and I can’t find anything.

Not sure about undergradute, but here is their graduate level rankings (2008). I can’t imagine undergraduate is much different (if at all) especially since one would at least have to take graduate level courses to get a CPA, and many (most?) accounting students get their Masters anyways:

1 University of Texas–Austin (McCombs) Austin, TX
2 University of Pennsylvania (Wharton) Philadelphia, PA
3 University of Illinois–Urbana-Champaign Urbana, IL
4 University of Chicago Chicago, IL
5 University of Michigan–Ann Arbor (Ross) Ann Arbor, MI
6 University of Southern California (Marshall) Los Angeles, CA
7 Stanford University Stanford, CA
8 Brigham Young University (Marriott) Provo, UT
9 New York University (Stern) New York, NY
10 Northwestern University (Kellogg) Evanston, IL

^that’s probably ranking for doctoral programs. i don’t think chicago or northwestern even have master degree in accounting. at northwestern, i believe there’s only accounting “concentration” for the MBA program and the concentration consists of just 3 or 4 courses.
