<p>Judging by my own school’s stats, 38% more students received Pell grants this year than last year … so far. We have not finished our special circumstances reviews. With the huge number of requests to reconsider income due to loss of jobs, we may end up with a higher percentage than that.</p>
<p>In my school’s case, we were able to increase the amount of institutional grant money given to needy students even as the number of needy students has risen. We used the Obama stimulus money and our administration earmarked budget money for grants. Our students are very fortunate this year in terms of need based aid.</p>
<p>Umm… I got less aid even though my EFC was 0 this year while it was 1 last year… State school too… but I was OOS.</p>
