2009 PSAT Scores and Discussion

^wondering the same thing…

If I understand correctly, “were to” is correct in this case: if the dogs were to bark loudly, they would…

The “it would” is the key I think…it should then be “was to…it would…”

not sure though.

When do all schools release the scores?
I still don’t have mine yet.

If I understand correctly, “were to” is correct in this case: if the dogs were to bark loudly, they would…

The “it would” is the key I think…it should then be “was to…it would…”

not sure though.

That’s correct. The usage of would in the conditional clause necessitates the usage of the past tense in the if clause. “were to” is past tense.

Crap. So much for getting over 230… my score report just came in the mail, and it turns out that I made a lot more stupid mistakes than I thought I did (i.e. the answers to the questions I answered incorrectly weren’t posted in the forum). 72 CR + 71 M + 73 W = 216 overall. I failed to meet my goal of 223+. :frowning:

Oh well. At least Michigan’s Semifinalist cutoff score is a 209… and at least I still performed better than I did last year (210). Good thing PSAT scores don’t show up on college apps.

I’m going to have to seriously up the ante on SAT studying…

Just received my scores today, Form S: 229 Total 80M 75W 74CR

Pretty disappointed in all honesty, Writing curve was brutal and the 3 questions I missed in CR were pretty dumb.

Does the school mail them?..or does collegeboard?

^ My school mailed my results to me.

Just got me scores today. I’m quite passive about them, not freaking out positively or negatively. I just really hope I qualified. I got a 219. Do you think that would work for Florida? 72CR (my worst section (went up 15 points!!!) so I’m quite happy, 79M (one very stupid mistake which I probably hurried on - killing myself for it), 68W (very very stupid considering I went down from last year. Such silly mistakes).

really really hoping i made it.

Just a word of advice which I too will be following. PSATs are over, and for the juniors they are over for good. So I think we should spend less time determining curves and disscussing scores and more time prepping for the SAT which is far more important. Besides the test is over. We scored what we scored and we can’t change it. If we made it we made it and we can’t change that either. So let’s all just move on.

My S has been checking the college board website to see if he could get his scores that way, since the school hasn’t given them out yet. Today there was a change in the website - instead of just listing his 2008 scores, it asked for the access code from his 2009 official paper score report! What’s the point of that, if he had the paper score report, he wouldn’t be looking online in the first place!

Well I’ve been checking this entire week and today my scores switched from 2008 to 2009 without asking for an access code. I do know many kids in my school who are experiencing a similar problem as you mamabear.

Thanks for the update! I don’t think that happened last year. Shoot. Well I just called the school and they are looking it up for me (thank you, small school) … Guess that means they leave the reports.

“were to” was the correct answer in that it was grammatically correct. I didn’t mean to imply that it wasn’t.

Hey, for some reason, my quickstart just allowed me to access my scores without an access codes. For some reason, it is allowing some people to do so.

I’m happy though. Form S (Saturday)

76 CR 80 M 80 W

For 236. I’m in Texas, so the cutoff here is 216, so I’m safe. It was a 41 point improvement from my last year sophomore score of 195.

Good luck!

217 in Illinois – am I good?

Yea I have online access now if there are any questions…

Can someone give some insight about how to access scores online w/o code?

“Hey, for some reason, my quickstart just allowed me to access my scores without an access codes. For some reason, it is allowing some people to do so.”

Any details you can offer about how the score came up?

“217 in Illinois – am I good?”

The cut-off last year was 214, and it was 213 the year before last. You’ll probably be fine.

" Can someone give some insight about how to access scores online w/o code? "

Yes, please do…
