I didn’t see them play Oklahoma but the reason I put them in (also Ohio State) was mostly because I couldn’t think anyone else that seemed deserving. Also, Florida State stands a great chance of winning the ACC and if that happens they will end in the top 10 probably.

LSU is undefeated but, really, are they a top 10 team? I also considered Arizona (which I would put at #11), Iowa (above Arizona, the best team they’ve played and had lost to?), and Nebraska (which is coming off a bad loss)

Also, I wouldn’t have Auburn at #2, not with their defense. You might overlook giving up 43 to a good offense like Arkansas, but Auburn ranks #63 in scoring defense (USC, whose defense has been leaking like a sieve, is #62) and ranks #105 in allowing plays over 10 yards.

Of course, I’m not saying that Auburn’s not good (they’re definitely top 10 material). But I’m leery of even having them 7th, because they’re going to trip up sooner or later, and they probably will not play for the national title this year.

^^^what about Michigan State??? We are 7-0, ranked 7 in BCS, and we beat Wisconsin rather decisively…but still get no respect. Oh well, I guess we just have to cream Northwestern and Iowa next to get the attention we deserve.

^^Yeah we’ll see. I’m not a complete believer yet either, Iowa is definitely Michigan State’s biggest challenge this year so if we can pull it off then we might make it all the way…

Wisconsin runs the ball, Iowa has top run defense. We’ll see who’s better but Iowa has an edge in the Big Ten because they play all good teams at home (Ohio St, Wisc, Mich St). It’ll be interesting if Wisc beats Iowa and Iowa beats Ohio St and Mich St at home. Then Wisc, Iowa and Mich St will all have 1 loss. Who’s going to the Rose Bowl then?

After watching last night’s beat down that Oregon handed UCLA, I’m convinced that they’re #1. Their offense is explosive and they scored on every possession. They only punted 1 time in the 4th quarter with back up team coming in. Thomas is a dual threat and is very accurate, James runs wild on any defense and the receivers look sharp. The camera couldn’t keep track of who has the ball at times because they’re too fast. I think if they improve their defense, they’ll go undefeated.

I was pretty well convinced of that even before the UCLA game. I would have them favored over every team in the country.

I just have to hope that USC will give them more of a fight than UCLA did.

Highest ranked Big-10 team in the BCS, which would almost certainly be Ohio State (if for no other reason than they started the season ranked higher than the rest of them)

News in the other college football, tonight USC women’s soccer beat UCLA 1-0 in front of 8,527 fans (NCAA record) at the LA Coliseum.

I guess you can include that here technically because it’s futbol haha.

It’ll be raining for the Iowa/Wisconsin game today and I think that plays into the Badgers favor. Ricki Stanzi will struggle with a wet ball and being chased around all day by J.J. Watt. Most underrated D-lineman in the Big Ten.

Stellar game out of the Badgers today at Iowa despite all the injuries. They have a path towards the BCS if they win out and perhaps even the Rose Bowl if MSU can lose twice. Great last two weeks to be a Badger!

^^^ if that stupid Stanzi had thrown that ball away instead of taking a sack and burning a time out, it would’ve been 33-31 Iowa, I’m pretty sure.

The AP poll only had Missouri at #18 last week? Not that SOC2015 or I picked the Oklahoma upset here but both of us had Mizzou in the top 10

ESPN GameDay @ USC for #1 Oregon @ #24 USC. The excitement is nearly enough to cancel out the cringing when I think about Oregon’s #1 ranked offense going up against USC’s 111th ranked pass defense (274 yards/game) that is also 117th ranked in 10+ yard passes allowed.

it looks like my Gators have completely fallen off the grid. I hope they can get some playmakers on offense next year. I don’t know what’s wrong with Brantley, but I hope he pulls his ■■■ together and step up as a leader.

So sad to hear about the Notre Dame student. Hopefully from now on athletic departments will be more cautious using those towers.

This is not the Big East’s year. Unless someone goes on a tear through the conference it’s quite possible the Big East champion could be 8-4 at the end of the year, which I am certain the Fiesta Bowl (the most likely place for the Big East champion to end up) will be thrilled to host, while the Rose/Sugar/Orange bowls are nearly certain to get all 2-loss teams or better.

Of course, the worst case scenario is that the Big East champion ends up 7-5, at which point you’ll probably see an outcry about the Big East’s AQ status.

USC has not hosted an AP number 1 team since 1988 (2nd longest drought among all BCS teams). Let’s hope it’s not another 22 years until the next one.

MSU fail. lol oh well! At least we have basketball season. And we can most likely still go 11-1, not too shabby for a team that had really low expectations coming into this football season.

^^yeah I was a little surprised too. In retrospect, they barely beat Northwestern the prior week, and I feel Iowa had a lot more to prove at home (especially coming off of a heartbreaking loss against Wisconsin) but that still doesn’t excuse a 31 point blowout.
