Congratulations EmilyLars! I just wanted to say that I found your previous post very humorous, although your first dream must have been troubling at the time…throughout this whole application process my brother has been joking with me about how I am going to go to the local community college for graduate school
Also UCLA rocks and is one of my favorite campuses ever :)

@ transform

Thanks transform! Maybe I’d better call and find out next week… Are you attending U Chicago anyway? :)

I’m jealous of all the people who have decided where they are going… I’m having a hard time. Any advice to those of us trying to narrow it down to one school? Anyone else here trying to factor in bf/gf in the decision?
Congrats to everyone that is hearing back!! It is really exciting!

BTW, what do you guys think of UW Madison’s IPiB (integrated program of biochemistry)? I don’t have much info, and I have a hard time making decision over U Michigan’s PIBS…
any help?

@ Caulobacter:

Yes. My fiance is wait-listed for med school at my top choice and my second choice (where I have gotten in). She was accepted to my third choice program. She has a chance at the other two, but won’t know until late May, so we have to make a decision for me without all of the information. Arg!

@ Sleepyhead:

My professor told me those two programs are very similar in terms of research opportunity, so I would say go where you thought you would best like to live.

Caulobacter,

I finished making my decision and also had to consider a girlfriend in the picture. Though my selection was pretty clear cut. What sort of questions are you addressing? Are you waiting for your bf/gf to hear? Have you gotten into programs you want to go to? Details…!! haha PM me if you want.

Oncogene, Congrats! Have fun up in Boston.

Thanks TwylaBloo! Looking back the dream was pretty funny but at 4:45am it was terrifying

@sleepyhead

I know a couple people that are very happy at UMich PIBS, and Ann Arbor is a really great place to live!

@Pilsung
Sorry to hear about all that, I hope you hear something back from those med schools before April 15, but med schools are so slow to reply. Frustrating!
@GCN2
Haha, I included detail in the PM. For everyone else who may be interested, I am basically trying to decide if I want to go to school in the same city as my bf… or not. Not fun.

You love Sinai?? I got into Sinai and UCLA…I am having such a hard time deciding which school to attend. Any advice??

Hello everybody

I have narrowed my choice between UCSF BMS and Yale.
I’m leaning very much towards UCSF. I know New Haven has pretty much nothing. But program wise…can anyone offer any thoughts about the two schools?
Thanks alot.
Congrats to everyone who has got acceptances.

Has anyone heard back from UCSD BMS???

Hi Prettywitty!

I’m trying to decide between Rockefeller, Sinai, and Albert Einstein

I’m kindof leaning towards Sinai though…it just seemed like a great fit…what are you interested in?

@miRNAman:

I heard back from UCSD BMS the Monday after I interviewed via email. I decided not to go there and have already told them, so hopefully that helps you out.

Has anyone heard from U Chicago Biomedical Sciences? I just want to make a final decision…

AHHH! can’t decide between yale and rockefeller. I liked both even though they’re different in so many ways… I think maybe the more rigid structure/teaching opportunities at yale would be better for me, but am I stupid to turn down rockefeller?

I don’t think it’d be stupid to turn down Rockefeller - many don’t even apply to Rockefeller precisely because it is more of a research institute than a graduate school. I think it’d be a fantastic place to do a postdoc though.

UCLA or Emory? I have been accepted to the neuroscience program at both. I want to study Alzheimer’s disease, not sure how cellular or maybe through imaging, this is still tbd. Any input on either school would be helpful.

I’m interested in neurosience particularly dealing in neurodegenerative diseases, plasticity and repair. I loved Sinai. In your opinion how does Sinai and Rockefeller compare? I’m trying to decide btwn Sinai and UCLA…ahh decisions…decisions…

What did you think of UCLA Prettywitty?
