2010 Official Essays and recommendations thread!

How far are all of you guys on your essays? recommendations? Throw down whatever you want about these two things or anythin about the Michigan app for 2010!

I am done pretty much done with my essays and my recommendations are taken care of. (begged my teacher and counselor!)

I did my essays all in one night, the day I applied… You’re really getting a headstart there!

I haven’t even started.

I started my essays. But 250 words is awfully short I noticed.

And my school is ghey with my counselors. My first counselor retired. Then my second one is becoming an english teacher, and now I have a third counselor who I don’t even know. Seriously I hate my school. What is the counselor going to write about when he doesn’t even know me? extremely rude, extremely.

Why not just get one of your old counselors to write you a letter of rec? Just because they aren’t a present counselor at your school doesn’t mean they weren’t your counselor. I imagine a letter from someone that has known you for a while would be better than someone who doesn’t know you at all.

Yeah seriously, that sucks for you Jstar1.

At my high school, at the end of junior year everybody filled out paperwork called “brag sheets” where you and your parents wrote down everything they thought your counselor should include in your letter of rec since the vast majority of students only met their counselors between 1 and 4 times.

I went 100 words over on two of my essays but I doubt they would even notice or care. It takes like 2-3 minutes to read anyway. I still have to do that setback essay.

They probably won’t notice as long as the submission form doesn’t cut it off after a certain point. I was afraid it might, that happened on one of my apps to another school, so I made sure not to go more than a couple words over.

Haven’t started any essays.
