2011 AP Test Results: Are You Satisfied With Your Score(s)?

Alright, alright, I get it. There’s a plethora of threads about projected and actual scores, how you actually did, and even when you received them.

But I want to ask a more direct question to YOU, personally. Are you happy with the scores you received in the mail or are you disappointed?

What went wrong and what went right? What would you have done differently leading up and during the test? What did you use to study and just generally how do you feel now that you have gotten your scores back?

Have fun.

I’m so definitely satisfied. Thinking about my work vs. results ratio only makes me happier.

I took 9 tests and got 9 5’s. I’m satisfied.

got 5s on all of mine :)

Satisfied with 3/5 AP scores. 3 5’s and 2 non-5’s…

I’m with you, man. I self-studied a meager two tests in the weeks before and I got two 5’s. I can’t complain.

You are a champion! Congrats.

@iluvpiano Alright, I’ll bite, what were you expecting from the other two tests and how’d you actually do? I mean, was it unreasonable that you would get 5’s on them, or were you certain they were in the bag.

Also, give my thread some love, gents. What tests did you take to get those scores?

Dang, dude, if you could cash in fourteen 5’s for a convertible, maybe I could cash in my two 5’s for a gumball machine or a steak dinner or something… Lol

Basically, we need to live in a world where the currency is AP test scores.

Me too. Garfieldliker, your list of scores seemed larger than 9.

Mechanics (as far as I could tell) had an incredibly lenient curve, while E&M probably had a more normal curve. However, this is only for the regular administration. English Lang was probably pretty lenient (not too sure on this) while Lit seemed to be pretty harsh this year.

Music Theory (5)- The dictations and compositions definitely saved my butt. Probably would have gotten a 1 without them…

Euro (5)- MC and DBQ saved my butt. The second FRQ was really terrible.

Biology (5)(Late)- So lucky that I got the FRQs that I did.

Could someone answer this question for me?

Ok, so I got a 2 in an AP Test. People on threads, though, keep on asking if they should cancel a score. What is the point of “canceling your score” when you self-report it? Like if you want colleges to see or not? Does “canceling” make a difference?

I got five 5’s. But what I was more proud about was the fact that I was able to teim-mange and work independently to achieve these scores. It’s a big morale and self-confidence booster and just makes me more excited for college.

Not really, since I got a 4 in AP Human Geography instead of a 5. But it probably doesn’t really matter anyways since the AP National Scholar only requires an average of 4. I also did better than most of my freshmen classmates, and still have 3 more years to get a 5.

I would agree that there is little point in cancelation. Colleges see all your scores, but only after you send your final transcript if you are accepted. They won’t rescind you for subpar AP scores.

I am happy with my scores  2 5’s. There is also the 3, but due to me learning nothing this year in AP Biology its fine. (My teacher was horrible ><) If I went back in the past though, I probably would have taken AP Chemistry or APES, but ah well. What’s done is done.

All 5s but I wish I had taken more APs. So I guess I’m adequate.

Dang, dude, if you could cash in fourteen 5’s for a convertible, maybe I could cash in my two 5’s for a gumball machine or a steak dinner or something… Lol

If you’re a full-pay family at a solid private school, you can cash in your 14 5’s for a few convertibles - nice ones, too.

Am I satisfied? No. I studied all freaking year just for one AP exam to get a 5, and I get a 4. Really CollegeBoard? My exam just wasn’t good enough for you? >:(

Biology: 4
Comp Sci: 4
Eng Lit: 3
BC Calculus: 4
Stats: 5

It figures my best class during the year (Lit) was my lowest score, but I don’t really care. I actually only needed the calc for credit, and I was expecting a 3 so I would say I’m really happy with my scores. I wish I had taken physics instead of bio though.

US History, Calc AB, Stat, English Lang –> 5s
Chem —> 4

I’m very satisfied, although my satisfaction has been undermined by that sole non-5. It hurts more because Chem was the subject I studied the most for. Friends already make comments about my only 4 and I laugh about it, but on the inside, I feel so hurt…

Nahh…I just give them the good ol’ “F)*@ you!” and brag about my other 5s.
