Outside info for FRQ 3?

Dem Reps v Federalist
Louisiana Purchase
Strict v Loose Interpretation
War of 1812/Era of Good Feelings
Compromise of 1820/Missouri Compromise/36 30 Line
Corrupt Bargain
Jacksonian Democracy
American System of Clay

Anything else you guys put?

Who’s a good score estimator?

70/80 6 DBQ, 5 essay, 4 essay

Is that a 5?

What outside info could you use for 2?

VA 50 Acres/indentured servants
Lead to a lot of land, which lead to plantations
Wanted cheap workers, indentured servants
With the plantains came the triangle trade and slavery
Slave trade would be outlawed and some slaves were set freee in the rev

That pretty much sums mine up. I guess you could use bacons and stono, but they don’t seem like necessities.

statlanta was the western settlement and issuing of credit involved in that ?

i put that in my essay >.<

I thought the MC was hard, with most of them about colonial era and before 20th century (I think it was). I think i did pretty good on the dbq. I also streamed through 2 and 4 on frqs. I had 3 pages on dbq and 2 pages on each of the frqs.

yup that’s a good 5.

I didn’t reference my thesis statements alot in my 2nd and 3rd FRQ. Hopefully they can find some good arguments for the thesis.

I got probably somewhere around 60/9/4/4

For me MC actually felt incredibly easy. I finished at the 30min mark and basically re did the test all over to check my answers. Only 5 I wasn’t sure on.

Essays i pulled a lotta BS well see what happens, dunno how they grade this stuff.

ugh, this exam just sucked. multiple choice: i looked at the first question and did a double take. none of the answers really seemed to be the best fit, i was just like ***. it freaked me out but the rest wasn’t too terrible. i did feel that the questions were spread out very unevenly, lots of early and modern stuff and no emphasis on important stuff in between… i circled 27, hope i was able to pull a 60/80 at least. i really need a good score on the multiple choice because my essays all sucked.

it all went way downhill from there. my class didn’t make it past JFK, so when i saw the dbq i wanted to die. i was able to pull it together a little bit just from working with what was given and pieces i’d gleaned from glancing over cram packets, but i didn’t really get any major outside info besides detente and vietnamization. i got completely screwed because our college counselor walks around with a stop watch and thought it said like 14 seconds when it was really 14 minutes left for the dbq section, so i rushed into the frqs. i did 3 and 5, and 3 was utter ********, i wrote like 3 and a half paragraphs that all said the same thing. i’m hoping i somehow scraped a 5 on it. and again the stupid clock thing, halfway through he walks around and i got the time screwed up and rushed through the second frq. it was slightly better but there’s no way i got above a 6. i’m going to be so upset at myself if i don’t get a 5, i made such dumb mistakes. ):

i almost cried with happiness when i saw nixon. my entire testing site cheered and scared the proctors hahahaha. i didn’t really study for the exam at all, but i at least skimmed from 1600-1900 out of fear the dbq would be some horrible thing like jackson or gilded age. now i wish i had skipped the stupid 1800’s (which seemed to not be on it at all this year…) and just done 1600-1800 and 1900-1985. oh well

mc: didn’t think it was too bad, but *** was the first one? other than that, there was only one i totally blanked on. hoping for 60-68 on it.

dbq: joy joy joy. hadn’t actually bothered to even skim post 1910-ish, but we had just covered him and it was pretty easy to remember. i just wasn’t sure how to organize the essay; ended up doing intro (said he had mixed success)->economic paragraph->political paragraph->social paragraph->conclusion. a little cliche, but i think it should get at least a 6 or 7. so happy that i included the opec embargo, because i couldn’t remember for sure if that was actually under nixon. tons of good outside info and think i used docs well. forgot detente and vietnamization though :(

frq 2: kind of failed this… okay-ish amount of outside info (stono, cash crops, differences n/s, royal africa company, triangular trade, indentured servitude, advantages of slaves etc) but TERRIBLE organization. 4 at worst, 6 at best?

frq 5: again, okay-ish. kind of listed random stuff and failed at organizing or analyzing. and i forgot washington and dubois, ■■■. but i put a lot of good stuff about garvey and harlem renaissance and liberia. for 50’s/60’s i did mlk, sncc, nation of islam/black panthers… didn’t put in malcolm x or elijah muhammad though, couldn’t find a way to work the names in. hopefully like a 5?

overall, not too bad. i was worried about time, but finished mc with 10 minutes and the essays with 25 (i think i rushed unfortunately, but i was too apathetic to check them over…) really hoping for a 5! any predictions on generosity of this year’s scale?

those essays were piece of cake. I made a couple of mistakes and forgot calhoun. anyone know what they’re looking for exactly in the political parties essay? not saying there was one… but if there were, what points are they looking for?
MC was decent.

Yo guys, according to ap pass, if you did mediocre on essays, like a 4 or 5, and -30 on multiple choice, 50-60, you can still get a 4! Seems to good to be true though :(

MC: Pretty easy. Got tricked by the second to last MC (I had Form Q). Who knew two famous women would have such similar names? Also, I was a bit surprised they had a question that was post-Reagan but not demographic, but it was a pretty simple one.

DBQ: Not bad. Discussed Vietnam, Ping Pong, Detente, OPEC/Energy Crisis, Watergate. Mentioned Cambodianization and Kent State.

FR Part B: Did #2. Apparently, the sample FRQ in the DH book was really similar to this. I hadn’t read it, but I knew pretty much everything about the origins and I wrote some stuff about development. :P

FR Part C: Did #5. Such an easy FRQ, though I never really quite explained both goals and strategies of every single black leader I cited. I just characterized both periods and gave names and a quick sentence about what they did.

Should be a 5, which is a nice surprise.

thats pretty much exactly what I put, though I mentioned the farewell address, great compromisers, and pretty much mapped out the parties in the time period. I did a lot of random stuff, stressed Sectionalism A LOT.
I said that parties only served to divide the country, rather than to bring it together.

Hmm we didn’t really study Nixon much either I thought that the docs helped me come up with info though. I had vietnamization, Spiro Agnew, Arab oil embargo, civil rights stuff, and maybe a couple other things?? Is that enough for a good grade or what?
I had some trouble with mc too - we took practice tests from past years in school and I thought this was so much harder! But hey free response were soooo easy :))

i had no idea either, i picked that one because i felt stronger about 1790-1840 than i did pre-revolution, but i totally didn’t understand what they were asking for; i wrote about how political parties weren’t bad because they led to debate and compromise that pushed the country forward, but that they didn’t inspire national unity, and i cited the patriotism that came with the era of good feelings as how when there were no parties there was more apparent unity in the country. not totally sure if i did it right though…

Wooowww. I was actually feeling pretty confident, but after reading all your guys’ posts, I’ll be lucky if I even get a 3. Dammnn. I only wrote 2pgs each (front&back) for the DBQ & both FRQs. MC wasn’t as bad as I thought, tho.

tortoro- i think you’ll be fine, a 4 is definitely likely.
314159265- UGHH that one screwed me too! i went back and realized i had chosen the wrong answer because i had misread her name, but then i realized i had no idea what the actual answer was. ended up choosing the wrong answer anyway because i just guessed >.<
ohgoodness- YOUR TEACHER CHANGES YOUR GRADE IF YOU GET A 3? are you kidding me?! how is that even possible if scores don’t come out until july?

i did 2 pages back in front for dbq (so i guess like 4 pages) but my frq’s were pretty short. 2 was a front side and half the back and 5 was the full 2 sides. (i thought we weren’t allowed to go onto a third… fail)

edit post due to rules

diana2012: He does the same thing every year… apparently teachers can do that? I at least need the 3 tho! Do you think there is any way i can get it with an approximate score of MC:40/DBQ:6/FRQ:3/FRQ:3??
