2011 January SAT: Critical Reading

is it definitely correct “needed more space” for the 8 X11 paper q? what was the question again? i forgot.

which reading passage was part of the experimental section?
(if this question was already answered, sorry…) i just signed up.

I thought it was ironic because

 1. He knew the age of the goat, but didnt know his own age
 2. The goat lived pretty long.

Section 4 was the experimental section. I had 2 writing sections and they screwed me over so badly. >.>

section 4? for me that was the stupid ***** who tried to put her house back together or something…

so what do we say was the primary purpose of gma? i said to show misunderstanding between her and her g daughter about what it means to write a letter. i didn’t think it was development as a writer.

@gymkid yeah that was definitely correct. Somewhere the narrator/granddaughter mentioned how the floral stationary “cramped up her style”.

was ballet dancers because they are social?

@violinplayer, sorry, my computer was showing the posts from 3 o’clock, which was the one i was trying to reply to… not yours. but yeah, WE’RE RIGHT!

By “medical devices” do you guys mean diagnostic methods? I don’t remember any medical devices.

ok, but “cramped my style” means putting a damper on mood

that list is exactly what i got except the grandma learning to write, i put it was for the purpose of better ending the letter or something

@annoyingaakash

i put it was the formative stage in her writing career because the passage began with “her first commissioned work was…” something and because the other choices didn’t completely make sense. that question was quite difficult. any thoughts?

was it performed or directed? i feel that that question was ambiguous

@carpdime
I put physical stimuli

@wavegate
I put harmful effect
but everyone else put education

directed is what i put…

but if it said “cramped up” then that is definitely correct

Performed. Just put it into the sentence. “There have been no experiments performed” vs There have been no experiments directed."

i said performed, i think there was a discussion a while ago though

for chandelier
did anyone put “sources of disappointment”?

@dfeknle “Education…” as in “regulations to reduce imapacts”
i dont remember the word education

also, for perform/direct

i remember the passage had the word “conduct”

i went to google > “define:conduct” =direct the course of; manage or control;

though i put perform…
