2011 January SAT: Critical Reading

^Agreed. 10 char

@dfekfnle
I got the answer about medical devices too. The other ones just didn’t make much sense.

@annoyingaakash12
I also chose “novel idea” for that question.

for surprising one
I put its novel explanation

it was definitely eschew: The natives eschewed modern practices, adhering to their old methods.

@MalikaPotter - I agree that it would be medical devices.

OMG I cannot believe that I put down “it was like a game” for the “I was off to the races” question.

WOOOW.

What did the extroverts and ballet dancers have in common? Was it response to physical stimuli?

harmful effects vs. regulations reducing impact?

So what was it irreverent?

for the stupid ruined house question that I probably missed a lot on, what was the last question? i said something about palatial

I agree that it would be medical devices.

im pretty sure thats right.
because a supported wouldnt try to find fault with the theory but rather fault from a different source

Palatial is correct

carpdime and seahawks506: yes.

What about the sentence completion with the talented kid
was it virtuso/precocious
or
prodigy/exceptional?
don’t they mean the same thing?

@hello810 thats what I said.

The theory said that it was caused by emotions. Stressing out is a type of emotion.

there is nothing in the passage that said that the medical devices were to far behind.

After all, they said that you could measure the threshold of pain and the placebo effect or something

The extroverts and ballet dancers had in common that both responded to physical stimuli the same way - at least that’s what I put.

What was the one about ballerinas’ “psychology”? I put mental composition, but I was worried it might be emotional trauma.

What about the sentence completion with the talented kid
was it virtuso/precocious
or
prodigy/exceptional?
don’t they mean the same thing?

the answer was prodigy because prodigy is specific to a young person while vituso can apply to anyone

that list is exactly what i got except the grandma learning to write, i put it was for the purpose of better ending the letter or something

@Ivycraze

that question was fking ambiguous. i hate it. i put prodigy/exceptional for the mere reason that precocious means mature instead of adept

@Andevan

pretty sure it’s mental composition. extroverts? trauma? incongruent

prodigy, because the second word is what distinguishes them.
it was something like" not having ___ accomplishments": precocious means at a younger talent than usual, which was what the person was, but he was only talented because his accomplishments were not EXCEPTIONAL
