2011 January SAT: Critical Reading

I thought it was about tissues and bacteria. I believe it said it killed good tissue and killed bad bacteria. Hence, deleterious (harmful in a subtle, unexpected way) would be the correct answer.

What was the question with the one about the snow scene and children? My interpretation was that while the scene was presented as idyllic, the mother saw it as ignoring reality to such an extent that the scene was trite. I think I got that one wrong. =/

Fairly sure it was idyllic.

Only way to get -3 raw is 2 wrong and 1 omit or 2 omit and one wrong.

^
Or 3 omit

im pretty sure it was idyllic. for one of the questions in the tribulation passage was it broadcast openly or distribute widely?

Another heated debate…
I put “displayed openly,” but there is no general consensus.

I agree with deleterious.

I don’t think we have a consensus. =/

its broadcast openly, because the meaning implied was that they were put in places that everyone could see them. they were being shown off.

i would like to individually declare that the consensus : D

Lol I completely agree with your answer.

Oh and was that chick in the tribulation passage prone to romantic reverie or fascinated by cultural history? i put romantic reverie cus she thought her crib looked like a palace and what not.

That answer choice was “Displayed openly.” See, but the stuff wasn’t purposely placed so that everyone could see them… the stuff was just thrown everywhere. That’s why I put “Distributed Widely.” =/

And I put “romantic reverie.”

@CollegeWhore

Yeah me too. I’m 100% sure it was romantic reverie.

@collegewhore
i put romantic reverie

thrown everywhere? before the accident? i dont think stuff was just thrown around…

Don’t remember the question, but was the entire passage basically that the narrator was disappointed with the Tribulation because it was not how she viewed it as a child?

i dont get why everyone is trippin about the tribulation passage. I actually thought that the passage regarding pain was much more difficult… : / but thas just me

The narrator and the character were different people. The passage was basically about how everything the character had been told about Tribulation had been a lie.

oh syndekit, i think ur talkin about the one where the answer was either, it was not as palatial as she imagined it, or it was not as much of a tribulation as she was told…something like that. I put it was not as palatial
