Received an email from Weill Allied today which says “We are seriously considering your application to the BCMB program. However, as of now, your application remains incomplete. Please check online and try to provide the missing information ASAP so that we may continue with evaluation of your application.”

All along I just thought they didn’t update their website… kinda wished I acted on this earlier.

I’m hoping “seriously considering” = potential interview Can’t blame a guy for hoping.

i just talked to someone at gerstner, my application file was incomplete until now (gre reporting, sent the score like 3 times) and the person i talked to told me they are still sending out invites.

@biology123: Cool, I got the invite from the John’s Hopkins/NIH GPP program as well. I won’t be here for the official interview weekend, but they were very nice about setting up interviews for local candidates on alternative dates. He said it’d take 40 minutes or so, which seems like it’ll be a really short interview.

Welps, so I have eight interviews lined up, hopefully will be able to get into at least one of the schools. If not, I’ll take that as a sign that I should switch professions. Or learn how to interview better :P

thats what i thought, but i called anyway just to see what was up with my application status. if they weren’t going to review it by now the guy would have definitely told me that it was too late, but he said very clearly to me that more invites are being sent out, and that i’d hear back from them through email. thats the information i was given, soooo hopefully its right this time…

GSK interviews were this past Wednesday. They interviewed 47 people for 15 spots.

That said, I know they do skype interviews for international students, so maybe if they haven’t reviewed your application yet and they turn out to really want you they will do a skype interview instead. It’s also possible that they do individual interviews later to fill spots that the original acceptees turn down. I think I vaguely remember this happening to someone on last year’s thread. A second whole weekend seems unlikely, given how many extra people they already have, but what do I know. Admissions is such a black box.

I’m going to go crazy this week waiting to hear back from them.

I know many of you probably know about it already, but just for those who don’t! It’s obviously not the most complete resource, since not everyone who’s applying to grad programs knows about the site or submits their results. But I’ve found it informative. It’s also one more way to fill time while waiting for interviews and acceptances.

Someone posted on grad cafe that they received a Brown pathobiology interview invite on Jan. 12. lol - oops? I guess our chances have suddenly gotten lower, then.

Yeah, I saw that someone had posted that they got an interview at the UMass Med BBS program a week ago, which was disappointing. But I also felt the same way when I saw that someone had gotten an interview for UVM’s CMB program much earlier in the month, and I ended up getting a very enthusiastic interview invitation yesterday.

So I guess the moral of all of these stories is that these programs are all REALLY good at confusing the crap out of us.

I agree with phirah; this confusing e-mail invitation/rejection/waitlisting game makes me want to cry: I feel pathetic updating this and the gradcafe sites every second, yet I cannot stop and sometimes even wake up during the night to check things! Oh well… I guess I am not alone with this!

I heard from UWash Bio on Jan 11 with an interview invite. The interviews are Feb 4 and Feb 18, but I have no idea if they’re done sending invites. Good luck!

I agree. It seems like it would be easier for ALL parties if they just notified all applicants at the same time, especially since the admissions committee usually only meets a few times. This waiting game is frustrating!!!

Has anyone heard anything from UCSD BMS or UCSD Neuro? Are they still reviewing applications?
