2011 UCSD Decisions?!

hbp, don’t feel bad.

According to UCSD: "The Department of Bioengineering ranks 2nd in the nation for biomedical/bioengineering. The department has ranked among the top four programs in the nation every year for more than a decade. "

It’s a great program, so you were competing with some of the best in the nation to get in. I got rejected from my first choice (mechanical engineering), but still got accepted for EE. I plan to try taking a dual major with mech engineering during my second year, so there’s always hope. Plus, a wait list means you can still get in. So just don’t give up hope, and think positively.

thanks a lot bud, and yeah i’ve calmed down now
i just felt bad because i really never considered doing biology…was gonna switch if had gotten in.

Accepted! But in my second choice of major (my first was Human Biology) and last choice for college (my first was Muir). UW GPA: 3.88, SAT: 2030.

I am a community college transfer and I still don’t have a decision posted…this has to be bad, right???

Accepted!

Major: International Relations Economics

SAT: 2000
GPA: 3.9 UW 4.9 W (on a 6.0 scale)
Rank 6 out of 692

Extracurriculars:
Lots of ROTC involvement my first two years of high school
Second two years got more involved with work so not much ECs there.
Also dual enrolled my last two years of high school.

Will be graduating with my AA degree at the same time as my high school diploma.

Again, I think it’s probably because of my essays and sap story that got me in. Sadly I’m considered as an out of state resident which I will dispute because my father lives there and I have a CA driver’s license and both my parents still pay taxes to the state of California.

@Hagbe87
What are you talking about? Transfers usually don’t share a same decision date… and mostly LATER.

You are totally fine, don’t make yourself nervous LOL.

accepted!

gpa - 3.6 uw
sat - 2090

for those wondering you can check your application status on http://myapplication.ucsd.edu

@dodosteve, thanks, my nerves are on edge right now, I was really hoping to a decision today but I guess I will have to wait it out til next month

Does anyone know if they will continue to release decisions throughout the today? Lol, I am trying to stop checking my application but I can’t

I am a transfer student, and was ACCEPTED!!!

Can someone please tell me my chances of getting into UC Berkeley?
I got rejected to UCLA and I was disappointed because I did so much . …

^dude that sucks. im in the same boat as you, havnt checked UCSD yet (idunno my account name/password), but I got flat out rejected from UCLA, which was hella surprising cause I got into my BS/MD program (way more competitive).
but yeah, UC’s base on GPA, and thats about it. Sorry :(

My GPA is good because my school only has like 6 AP classes so it’s really impossible to get anything above a 4.3! However, I see what you mean because from the UCLA acceptances I’ve seen most of them have like 4.5+s !!! I hear that UC Berkeley cares more about well-roundedness vrs. just amazing grades with barely any activities like UCLA does! So I really hope my activities kick in for UC Berkeley, do you think they will?

Actcam:

S got into UCSD Theatre too, but also USC Theatre where he will probably attend. Congratulations to you!

hello everyone!
thanks for all the answers
i got into marshall college @ ucsd for pharmacological chemistry!
but i think i’m either going to ucla for neuroscience/immunology or usc on a trustee scholarship (don’t know for sure yet!) and double majoring.

my stats aren’t too outstanding, but here they are:
gpa: 4.2
SAT: 2140
extracirriculars: Varsity tennis, California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club District Board Member, Music Club President, Link Crew Leader, Link Crew Leadership Team Member, Student Forum Representative, WASC Instructions Committee Member… and I don’t remember.
I think my essay and also what I’ve done as a musicians as well might’ve given me that extra boost.

Good luck everyone with the rest of your admissions!
