No problem! Haha I just started typing and 30 minutes later realized how much I had written (probably should START studying for my AP exam tomorrow instead of doing this lol). But, yeah, I just tried to look at a few of the Barron’s problems and was completely clueless about 90% of it. If I were you, I would definitely order the Smartypants book like right now so that you can use it to study (almost no bookstores carry it). Although Smartypants is certainly not enough on its own, it is by far the quickest way to learn 60-70% of the material.

Ok. I’ll definitely do that. Good luck on your remaining AP tests!

I though it was hard even though I studied but it was my first exam so maybe I was nervous besides I have a lot on my plate now :(

^yeah, getting used to the “AP” style can be challenging at first. make sure to do the practice questions in the review book to get an idea of what to expect!

yeahh!!! keep studian

@wcclirl444

Thanks for your very valuable input! That was the kind of thing I was looking for before the exam.

for the coal thing i said cleaner coal technologies.

First of all that was really helpful! Thanks a lot! I wish I was taking APES next year so I could follow through with your plan, I kind of just crammed to no avail.
Where did you get the 1998 exam? Is that one that you have to pay for?

edit: oh haha never mind. just figured out it’s on ap central.

The embargo or whatevs is up now (pretty sure)- it’s been 48+ hours since the test!

Lol, some students will take apes test in 2 weeks, better wait till complete.

@locamotif: Are they on the collegeboard website? If not then we still can’t discuss them. I’ll go check

Sent from my iPhone using CC

Nope, they’re not on there yet.

Essays are on AP Central. We can now discuss.

I thought the wetlands one was the hardest. Can anyone confirm that soil quality and average precipitation are characteristics used to describe wetlands?

also how do wetlands provide primary and secondary treatment?

So for the one about the eagles. They need more land because they are tertiary consumers right? and for the food chain… do eagles eat snails? and do snails eat algae?

I’m pretty sure it goes

Algae -> Snail -> Fish -> Eagle

Can someone link or give answers to the math questions?
And I said eagles eat fish…

I put
mass of carbon in one hectare/year = 1.35 x 10^5 kg
mass of carbon emitted by the school = 8.1 x 10^5 kg
number of hectares = 6
cost = $72,000

(i) I said that (1.0 ha forest) * ( 2.7 x 10^5 kg / 1 ha) * (0.5) → 1.35 x 10^5 kg

(ii) (3.0 x 10^5 gallons) * (10 kg CO2 / 1 gallon) * (0.27 Kg carbon / 1 kg CO2) →

810 x 10^3 kg of CO2

(iii) (810 x 10^3 kg CO2) * ( 1 ha / store 1.35 x 10^5 kg CO2 ) → 6 ha needed

(iv) → 6 * ($12,000) → $72,000

For the experiment question. would a reason to go against the hypothesis be if the minnows show no result to increasing conc. of product x? Or if the minnows actually receive a benefit from product x?
