2012 Cosmos UCD and UCSC

Hello,
I am planning to apply to either a COSMOS cluster at either UCD and UCSC, and I would be grateful for some advice.

The clusters I’m interested in at UCD:

Computers in Biophysics & Robotics
Introduction to Engineering Mechanics
Computer Security, Privacy, & Cybervillainy

at UCSC:

Video Games: The Design of Fun from Concept to Code (absolutely the one i am the most interested in)
Logic, Cryptography and Number Theory: Reason and Riddles

I need to know which clusters would actually look good on a college application, and how difficult it is to be accepted for the clusters. Also, I am not sure whether I should apply at UCD or UCSC because while UCSC has the Video Games cluster (which i am most interested in), I am not so interested in most of the other clusters. Any comments and suggestions would be appreciated.

All clusters would look good on a college application. It’s not what you’re studying, it’s the fact that you were motivated enough to devote a summer to such a program. If the video games are your most preferred cluster, then I’d say go for it! It’s worth a shot and it’d be better if you actually enjoyed what you were learning. ;)

How competitive is the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine cluster of UCSD?
Is it as competitive as the UCD Biomed?
If you know about the 4 campuses’ relative levels of difficulty, can you please post/rank them?
Thank you for your help

Nothing is as competitive as UCD’s Biomed cluster haha
I’m sorry, I don’t think I can accurately give you difficulty rankings. I think it’s safe to say that UCD is hardest and I would think (my opinion only) next is UCSD, UCI, then UCSC. Don’t quote me on it!
