The Republican Party “goes bold” … Obama wins a second term. Everything above is negatively effected.

S&P 500: range 1200 to 1450; settles at 1425
Top sector will be financials because President Romney will end the demonization of wall street
Worst sector will be health care after the current health care proposal is shot down in the Supreme Court and reversed by congress.
Crude: $90 to $135 and settles at $115
Gold: $1225 per oz to $1500 settles at $1275
Euro: drops to 1.20 vs USD and high of $140 ; settles at $132
Unemployment Rate: range of 8.6% to 7.5; settles at 7.5%

“Unemployment Rate: range of 8.6% to 7.5; settles at 7.5%”

The President reduces unemployment insurance from 99 weeks to the more usual 26-week maximum. The calculated unemployment rate immediately plummets to 4.25%. The President points to the dramatically reduced unemployment rate as evidence that his economic policies are working.

I predict the Myans were wrong.

Wow razorsharp, do you remember your S&P forecast? Do you have one for 2013, hopefully without a “past performance…” disclaimer?

Wow! I had no idea I wrote this post in January 2012. Thanks for revising it Dad of 3. I was right about the S&P. Right about financials being a top sector. Wrong about the President. Wrong about health care because the Supreme Court let me down. I was right about Crude if I meant brent crude which settled at $111 (I might have meant WTI, but I can’t remember). I was wrong about gold. I was spot on about the USD/Euro which closed at $1.32. I am kind of amazed about that one, since currencies drive me crazy. My unemployment was a little to optimistic but I did not account for unlimited unemployment benefits to be continued which has caused unemployment to remain so high.

Unprecedented severe storms.

^^I predict that news outlets will be claiming that there are unprecedented severe storms.

But I predict that the reality will be that they aren’t any worse than any other year.

^^^ since the world population increases each year by 70-80 million people, logically even if the storms were exactly the same despite topographical changes, more people would be impacted.

^^That makes sense.

I predict that next year we will all have a more exciting New Years eve than this one (ie posting on cc)!

razorsharp, you have officially achieved guru status! Even if you were off by a point. :D
