Anyone else excited for the Tony Awards on Sunday? I feel lucky to have seen the revival of Death of a Salesman a few weeks ago. It really was the best performance of any kind I have ever seen. I thought it was so powerful, so devastating, so heartbreaking – I couldn’t stop crying even after the show ended. I was actually shocked by the emotional impact the play had on me. I don’t know if it is because of my age, my current stage in life, or the state of the economy but it really resonated with me (and I think with everyone watching). I thought Andrew Garfield and Philip Seymour Hoffman were unbelievably good in their roles and I am rooting for both of them to win Tony awards. I felt like I could barely breathe during their pivital scene towards the end of the play when Biff sobs to Willy, “You have to let me go” …

Did anyone else see Death of a Salesman or any of the other nominated shows?

I. Can’t. Wait.

Love Broadway. Love live theater. Adore Neil Patrick Harris as the emcee.

I’ll be recording it so I can watch without commercials.

Saw Venus in Fur - LOVED it! Nina Arianda stole the show. I am rooting for her.

I am excited for the show. NPH has done a great job these past two years so I can’t wait to see how he mixes it up this year.

I really want to see Once. I love the movie it was based on. I love Marketa Irglova and Glen Hansard who I hope show up. I love the music of the show.

Having recently moved to Florida I regretted not seeing any shows.

Rooting for Porgy and Bess to win a few but my heart is with the wonderful Stratford production of JCS. Have many friends in the show. Follies will likely beat them both. Also hoping for Stockard Channing. I’ve seen about 2/3 of the shows that have received nominations. Half my family will be there Sunday night! Sadly, I am not able to make the trip but will be watching the show on tv with the other half of the family.:)

I rarely watch TV all year but I definitely will be watching the Tony Awards on TV. I follow theater a bunch. I’ve seen some of the shows, not all. I have a kid who works professionally in theater. I am quite into it. She lives in New York and has seen more of the shows than I have.

AlwaysAMom, that is really cool that some of your family will be there Sunday night.

The most recent Broadway show I have seen was a few weeks ago…Newsies…which I thought was great. And a few months ago, I saw Follies and Other Desert Cities.
