♠ 2012 UCSB Transfer Decisions Thread ♠

I was just pulling your leg  If you look at UCSD that way, you probably will notice uglyness more when there won’t be that many. THAT MANY. I agree.

Will not reveal my identity. :P

I know. :D

Anyways, carry on future Gauchos.

@FallingDown: YOU BEAST.

@Jdom: Wishing you the best. You’ve been so kind and helpful to us all. Appreciate it.

Aww, shucks, Thanks! Good luck to you too.

Any of you guys plan to going to the transfer admit day? I already went to the Spring insight event one, but I plan to go again this time with my whole family.

@FallingDown…is it mandatory? Orientation is mandatory right?

Nope Hooly, it’s not mandatory. It’s just one of those thing UC sets up to inform admitted students about their school and advices what to do after SIR. Pretty sure the orientation is mandatory since you have to meet with counselor to plan out your classes. I also heard we have to pay for the orientation. I think my gas and time driving there are already enough.

Anyone know how the golf is at UCSB? Like hows the golf class and courses in the area?

^@FallingDown: Thanks! LOL I agree. Driving there is already…torture. I’ll just take the train.

Falling down: I’m going to the May 10th one. I had to get put on a waitlist for it since it filled so quickly, but I got an email today saying they opened a spot and I got it. Yay!

Sent from my ADR6350 using CC

Oops, meant may 11th. Paying for mandatory orientation is so annoying. “You aren’t paying a lot of money for tuition, parking, housing, food, or books, so pay some more!”

@xxOverture, Omg, I didn’t know you have to make an appointment for the Transfer Admit day :(

Kind of sucks they have it during the semester as I won’t be able to attend due to work and classes keeping me way to busy.

Got rejected.

@FallingDown - Call them! They told me they would contact me if a spot opened up, and they did within 45 minutes that someone had canceled.

Question about housing:
I want to apply for the residence halls, but is there anyway to guarantee I will get a transfer dorm and not a freshmen dorm that allows transfers? Like, can I put a “preference” list up that says 1.) transfer dorm 2.) transfer apartments 3.) other residence halls so they know I want to go to the mostly-freshmen dorm the least? I am so confused right now, haha.

Is Manzanita Village the only dorm with a single occupant in a single room?

I would like to join the Facebook group. I tried to search and had no luck…where do you search groups?

Anybody else out there struggling to decide between UCSB and Cal? I hate that they are making me choose. Yes, I know this is a humblebrag but this is serious business, people. Nothing’s right, I’m torn.
