♠ 2012 UCSB Transfer Decisions Thread ♠

Thanks fionuhh I sent the request :)

Omg, so sad. The registration for the transfer admit event is all full :frowning: Sigh, I already promised my parents and my sister that we will all be going there next Friday to check out the campus. They were very proud that I got into UCSB. Now I don’t even know how to tell them. Hope someone cancel their reservation! AHHHH T____T

I went to their Open House

I don’t want to drive back there for a while…

Me too lawlking haha. But last time I only went my old man. Dude was so lazy and ended up siting on the bench the entire time LOL. This time, I’m taking my mommy and sister, so it should be a bit more fun.

LAWL KING ARE YOU EVEN IN THIS FB GROUP??? Or are you just a psycho fb stalker.

^^I’m a crazy mad facebook stalker yo!

Hide yo kids
hide yo wives

We got a facebook stalker
Snatching up all yo photos

Message me if you want extra photos of mine, lawlking.

Try stalking now sucka

Lawlking, are you going to be attending UCSB now?

^^well I’m going to submit my sir to ucsb and still wait for irvine

@lawlking so you rather go to uci than ucsb? What is your major? I got into both schools but I wasn’t sure which one to go to.

^^At first, I wanted to go to SB. But I changed my mind and prefer to go to UCI, but I’m waitlisted to Irvine.

I got into both but SIRed at UCSB. I like it there better, it looks nicer and I can go down to the beach whenever I want.

question… is orientation mandatory? Because im going to be going back home in another state… but since i heard its mandatory, i should figure out a backup plan to come back in mid august. Anyone know if its forsure mandatory for like registration and stuff?

Yep you cannot register until it’s completed, maybe they’d let you speak with an advisor over the phone if you explain your situation? Worth a phone call to find out

REJECTED

3.84 GPA, Cal Community College
History Major
All Prereqs completed with A’s
4 Honors Classes completed
Decent Essays
Decent Extracurriculars
IGETC Done by Spring 2013
63 Semester Units Completed by Spring 2013.

Currently completing math requirement this semester. I think that’s what got me rejected. UCSB wants you to have math and english reqs done by Fall 2012, right? Someone please tel me that UCSB is just weird and that I’m not completely screwed.

Good luck.

@jalberto That’s a pretty high gpa to be rejected… Not sure what to make of it.

I thought most schools let you have requirements in progress even in Spring. You should appeal.

Why you think you were accepted/wait listed/rejected (strengths/weaknesses): High GPA, good personal statements, finished all pre reqs. Worked a lot during school, unusual experience in working construction. Waiting on LA/Cal though. Congrats to all the other transfers that got in!

@ jalberto: This is last years thread. And yes, having your math and english requirement is a HUGE no no. I’ve told this to many of this years transfer hopefuls. During last years decisions we saw lots of people with high GPA’s get rejected because they had the math or english requirement IP during the last Spring semester before transfer. The best advice I always give people is “finish your math and English requirements ASAP”.

@ zomgrad: Yes most schools do let you have prereqs or IGETC requirements during the Spring, although it can hurt your competitiveness but having math or English IP during the Spring will definitely be shooting yourself in the foot.

This is the 2012 thread.
